Community Guidelines
Last updated October 24, 2026
The Survey Bonobo community - our blog, comments, groups and discussions - is a place to learn from each other and to support one another. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. By posting, commenting, reacting, or creating or joining a group, you agree to follow them.
1. Be kind and respectful
Disagree with ideas, not people. Criticism of a post, a survey method or of Survey Bonobo itself is welcome; insults, mockery and personal attacks are not.
Support groups exist for people going through similar things. Listen, encourage, and don't judge.
2. Not allowed
(a) Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others.
(b) Hate speech or slurs about anyone's race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
(c) Sexual content, or anything sexual involving minors.
(d) Spam: advertising, self-promotion unrelated to the conversation, affiliate or referral links, link dropping, repeated or copy-pasted messages.
(e) Scams, phishing, fake giveaways, investment or crypto schemes, or asking people for passwords, codes or payment details.
(f) Sharing someone else's private information (doxxing), or impersonating another person, brand or Survey Bonobo staff.
(g) Illegal content, malware, or content you don't have the right to share.
(h) Trying to get around moderation or a block, for example with new names, browsers or networks.
3. Posts, groups and @mentions
Blog posts from the community are reviewed by our team before they're published. Write something useful: a tip, a lesson learned, a story, a question for others. Add a cover image only if you have the right to use it.
Groups should have a clear purpose. Keep discussions on the group's topic.
Mention people only when it's relevant to them; don't use @mentions to spam or pile on someone.
4. How moderation works
We review what's posted in the community, and our team reviews reports and blog submissions. Anything that breaks these guidelines is removed.
If we find abusive, hateful, sexual, threatening, scam or spam content, it isn't published and the person who posted it is blocked from posting, commenting or creating anything in the community again. Blocks apply to the browser, the network and, if signed in, the account it came from.
Comments reported by several people are hidden automatically until our team looks at them. Anyone can report a comment with the Report link.
Writing that mentions self-harm is never treated as abuse - it's held for a person on our team to look at, and you'll be shown where to find help. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services (in the US, call or text 988).
5. Appeals
Mistakes can happen. If you think something was removed or blocked by mistake, email [email protected] with what you posted and roughly when, and a person will review it.
6. Not professional advice
Posts, comments and groups are written by community members. They aren't professional medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice.
7. Changes and contact
We may update these guidelines; changes are announced the same way as changes to our Terms of Service. Questions? Contact [email protected] or (517) 314-9333.
